HALF DAY TRADITIONAL FOOD TOUR AND LUNCH

In Hacienda Santa Clara hotel, located in the municipality of Santa Rosa de Cabal, you will have an authentic gastronomic experience with an interactive cooking class, that transmits the grandmother’s secrets of the typical and traditional sancocho on wood fire. Transfer to the hotel and welcome by a specialized chef. Then transfer to the town’s local market, which is known locally as the “Village Gallery”. This place is still preserved in time, both in its distribution and its tradition. Tour around the market, where you will have the opportunity to talk with an agricultural products seller and taste different seasonal fruits. With the chef assistance, you will buy the ingredients for cooking the dish and learn the popular slang of the local market. Finally, visit the “yerbatero”, person recognized by the people for his homeopathic knowledge passed down from generation to generation by his indigenous ancestors and who will tell you about the healing properties of many varieties of plants existing in the region. At the end, transfer back to the hotel to light the wood fire, then start cooking the main dish, assisted all time by local cooks. You will also learn how to prepare the typical arepas, and taste it together with the traditional chorizo santarrosano, flagship product of this region.
